They were very lonely before the asteroid hit.
With their huge vocabulary the other dinosaurs didn't like them.

You don't make many friends when you have such a huge vocabulary, and all your peers can do is growl and hiss.......

(actually, I never heard a reptile growl or snarl, or hiss loudly.......I think it's a Hollywood thing......)
