Its a variation of the Bourbon Buck. Bourbon (although it calls for rye, which I dont like), ginger beer, Angostura bitters, and a dash of lemon juice.
Yummy!
Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday night!

(2,155 posts)Shitty week. By golly, I deserve this!
Except
I could only find half a bottle of questionable wine. Should be enough to at least make my upper lip sweat. (And to think I was such a pro back in college, when I was a star pupil in Drinking Lab.

(72,516 posts)When I was a tanker in the Army, we used to get blitzed on Mad Dog on the weekends. If we couldnt get Mad Dog, we settled for Boones Farms. Im almost ashamed.
Now, my single malt is Lagavulin, my champagne is Taittingers, my gin is The Botanist, and my vodka is Absolut.
Sounds like a commercial

(2,155 posts)Boone's Farm was our HS fave--two bottles for 5 bucks, right in the allowance wheelhouse.
I could never stand beer, which made me a drag at keggers, though I can happily do a Guinness stout. Otherwise, it's Laphroaig for me.
Slainte mhath!

(72,516 posts)Its as peaty as Lagavulin, with a little less smoke. I love cracking the seal on a fresh bottle of Lagavulin. It smells like a campfire.
Ive got a great set of whiskey stones. I keep them in the freezer, then put them in a tumbler and pour whiskey over them for a chilled drink that doesnt dilute because of ice.

(68,471 posts)It's a totally non-stuffy book of short essays about how artists portrayed music. From the Ghent Altarpiece to Picasso's old guitarist. My book producer will send it to you if you pm me with your address. I got a little carried away with Degas" series on the Paris Ballet (with its young ballerinas exploitation by rich old guys who supported the Ballet that Degas included in his paintings and good for him!). But I think you'll like it. I've sent it to a few DUers and you can join that little club!

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
