I'm exhausted and sad right now. Between the state of the world, and the loss of my sweet kitty Zeke, I'm struggling a bit here.

She called me afterward to let me know she was alive after the jump.
I told her.... good. It would be awkward if she was calling to tell me she died.
When she says something like that I ask her to remind me what her SAT score was and what her job title is.
Yes, she is the future generation.

(8,901 posts)Losing a pet friend is, to me, the worst kind of grief. THE WORST. They live in a different part of our hearts.
Something good? Emergencies call for emergency medicine: FUNNY MOVIES. A wise therapist working with a very troubled child told me that and she was right. When all else fails...

(14,072 posts)It felt good to put my hands in the dirt. I am going to try not to plant anything else until after Derby Day, the Kentucky Garden Gods don't like that (potential for monsoon, freeze, tomatoes savaged by the wind, blight on everything).
I lost my best friend in January, she was a Border Collie mix named Layla. It still hurts but we had 15 1/2 wonderful years together. I am sorry that you lost your kitty (I have a kitty too, Lily who is around 14, and a 4 year old Mini-Aussie named Retro who is HELL ON WHEELS, I love that silly boy).

(13,384 posts)TJ's has flowers for $4.99 on my table right now, the sun came shining through my windows this morning making me feel lighter. I started to read a new series called The Witches of Scotland taking me into a fantasy far away from here. I met a neighbor yesterday walking and next thing I know we finished walk together. Her name was Tudy. Have no idea what she believes about anything and that was wonderful just to relate and talk about our operations and how we overcame them to walk again.
Hoping for a better day for you.
