Winton - 13 yr old, 14 pound, green-eyed, black and brown tabby male - not fat, just a big dude

(1,877 posts)Paddington is a bichon and Dickens is a maltese-terrier mix. Both are twelve and unfortunately both have serious health issues. Paddington has Cushing's disease and Dickens has kidney failure. Needless to say, each day is a blessing.

(61,074 posts)thing was we got them very close together and they died very close together. I swore I would never get another pet. As my heart hurt

(6,565 posts)Gisela was first after a stretch with no cat. Then Lily, Arya, and Ghost came to Alabama with my stepson who couldn't keep them here because his new girlfriend/fiance/now wife had big dogs. Lily came to live with me right away, but Arya and Ghost stayed at my ex's place for a while before we had to bring them here during a snow event a couple years ago. We were afraid we wouldn't be able to get to them to care for them, and now they're all part of the family.

(4,704 posts)They are siblings/litter mates, and twelve years old, their names are Civett and Maybelline. They've been a part of my family since they were 10 weeks of age. I also have a five-year-old, Pembroke corgi, named Sushi. I recently adopted him, within the last six months. I love them all. They are such good company, they're all wonderfully quirky and wonky in their own way.

(130,851 posts)I adopted them in December, shortly before Christmas. Their names are Chet and Dave, and they turn 5 on May 1. They are a delight. It's interesting to see how different their personalities are. Chet is more outgoing and talkative (his voice is a squawk, where Dave's is more of a squeak) and he wants to be on my lap all the time. Dave visits my lap sometimes but seems to prefer sitting up high somewhere or sleeping on his very own cat-sized sofa. He counter-surfs while Chet stands on the floor and begs. I love them already.

(14,307 posts)and a woman who cooks their food and takes them for walks off the property. Both of the human pets provide treats on demand and are good at sitting in the smaller chairs and spaces on the sofa and lounge when available. The man is trained to share his meat (they eat at the high table), but the woman is weird and refuses to eat any meat so she is left alone while she eats.

(8,947 posts)We thought he was part chihuahua, with a smooth coat and huge furry ears, when we adopted him from a rescue last summer.
Over the winter he grew a coat that makes him look somewhat like a small Sheltie, white ruff and all. His head shape doesn't look like a Sheltie's, though. We think he's also part Papillion.

(12,502 posts)Never does anything that bad kitties do. Never gets on the counter, will not steal food even when it's something he likes and I set my plate down right in front of him ( he'll wait until I serve him on his dish), doesn't "help" me make my bed, doesn't bute or snap at me, even when I'm trimming his claws and when I ask him to move he does.
He's all I have left now and he misses my most perfect dog, Muzzy as much as I do.
