While rich guys and movie stars are buffoons, and everybody depends on the farmer for food (which was always coconut cream pie). We've gotten these assessments all twisted around nowadays.

I think there's a reason - which I as a child didn't grasp - that Skipper referred to Gilligan as his "little buddy."

The show gets creepier and creepier in my memory the more I think about it. [shudder]
