I think I'll just stay away from everybody.
Or maybe vice versa.
I think those 72 hour deodorants are worth it. I use them on long air flights.
Mrs. Permanut would like to travel to Paris when this insanity is over. She'd probably appreciate if I splurged.

(8,377 posts)I'll have to see if the bank will loan me one just for a minute.

(5,902 posts)If they do loan it to you, they'll most likely expect to get at least $120 back!
Sounds like a losing proposition to me.

especially at Harris Teeter, which usually doesn't require to buy two.
The price at Dollar Tree
Dollar-twenty-five Tree
Dollar-fifty Tree has ratcheted up to where it's not a bargsin anymore.

(4,123 posts)Dont like about it is it stains clothes. I guess its the aluminum that causes the yellow stains. I went to degree ultra clear. Its a rough world out there being wet and stinky with yellow stains on your bras and tee shirts.

(34,232 posts)Also melon scent...ugh...ever smell an overripe melon. It smells like sweat...LOL No way do I want to put something that smells like sweat in my arm pits.
I used to like those clean scents, but it seems them too are just weird these days. So coconut it is. Coconut doesn't cause a strange smell reaction when it mixes with sweat

(8,377 posts)Even at a buck and a quarter they have some good values - paint brushes, masking tape and such.

(11,828 posts)Last year, I purchased ladies Dove 0% aluminum and paraben free. It's Shae Butter scent (it smells really nice) and it's 72 hour deodorant.
About 3 or 4 weeks later, I had this incredible pain stabbing me in my right armpit. It was almost as wild as the time that I got stung by a yellowjacket in the same armpit. I actually took my shirt off to make sure that I wasn't being stung.
I went searching through Reddit and it's a closed discussion from 3 years ago. The title is:Under my armpits have been hurting and aching, and I'm getting paranoid it's cancer 😭 someone help. Has theirs happened to anyone else?
There were quite a few comments and responses that said this armpit pain became a problem for them in the same armpit with the same Dove deodorant that I purchased.
I stopped using the deodorant and the pain went away after a few days.
This deodorant was almost $8.
I've only been wearing it on Tuesdays and the rest of the time I wear my regular deodorant. Once the dispenser is used up, I'll never buy this stuff again. And so far wearing it only once a week hasn't been an issue. But everyday use there's some sort of reaction to it.
Be careful out there when purchasing expensive and new to you deodorants!

(8,377 posts)I'm still reacting to the yellowjacket sting - OW!

(11,828 posts)Plot Twist. The yellowjacket sting happened while I was almost home and while driving.
I made it home however.

(4,304 posts)I noticed less and less underarm perspiration, and with that the absence of odor. I would just put one quick swipe under each arm. Seemed like I was just doing it out of habit.

(12,524 posts)Spray, solid rock (run it under water before applying), or roll-on.. Works and no chemicals, weird smells, nothing. It kills the germs that cause odor.
It works for me but probably not for everyone. Its usually pretty cheap.
The scented 72-hour stuff or whole body stuff costs $$$
Permanut
(8,377 posts)I'll look for it.

(12,524 posts)The stick version lasts freaking forever. It's solid mineral salt. These are great for travel, too.

My daughter just paid $12 for deodorant, which I thought was crazy. But when I was shopping for deodorant recently, the prices on all products were sharply up.

(34,232 posts)You know what they say about armpit hair and BO? It's true. I'm a she. It isn't the hair, it's the pores.
I'm almost 70 years old. This isn't going away...ugh...
Anyway, I splurge!
I even use Certain Dri when it gets bed.
Wash my pits with Hibiclens.
You name it....
