But mostly don’t watch much after season 5. The exceptions are few - “Like father, Like daughter “ is a good one from season 6

I enjoyed it, the the marriage was fine with me.

I do have to say, in real life the two leads "hated" each other basically from the beginning, for their relationship on the show the producers had to bring in marriage counselor(s) and other experts.

Acting between to two had sparks, and they played their part.

....often kills the show. "Moonlighting", "Remington Steele", and the new "Magnum P.I." being examples. I liked Nathan Fillion in "Firefly" and "The Rookie" but not "Castle".

Beckett was totally out of his class in looks but Castle was rich and famous, so there’s that.
I read that he was a real jerk to Stana Katic in real life - as you mentioned, they didn’t get along and that’s probably why. So that is also why I didn’t like Fillion. Won’t watch the Rookie because of his bad behavior off screen in Castle.
