Those stupid Progressive "becoming your parents" commercials

are now my most hated commercials.

One of their recent commercials has a voiceover with the most annoying professional voice I've ever heard.

Every other insurance company's commercials are, to varying degrees, okay by virtue of being not nearly as terrible. I actually rank the "Becoming Your Parents" line one of the lesser annoying, although they're WAY overplayed. But then, they all are. Allstate's are fairly consistently better than the others, IMHO.

I’m of an age I can see me acting like my parents in weird ways now. It’s both horrific and comforting at the same time.

As long as it is not so enjoyable or irritable that you lose track of the product.

Which is just how contrary I have become.

But with insurance, for me, it's the best rate, not a stupid commercial that makes a sale.

Some make no sense. I watch and wonder what they are advertising and what are they saying about it?

I guess maggots must enjoy them because they have no brains anyway.

Fat Pig enjoys them because he thinks it's wonderful how many companies talk like he does.

The billionaires love them because they like companies that make so much money, they can throw away money on garbage.

The fundamentalists love them because anything their little minds don't understand must come from God.

The repugs love them because they Democrats don't.

...for the first time. The kid sees a Cheeze-It cracker appearing in front of the father's mouth. He leans in toward the dad, and it looks as if he's going to kiss him.

Really creepy.

I'm sure the advertising company used focus group to see how the commercial would be viewed. It's one that homeowners can relate to in that they're seeing themselves becoming like their parents.

I think the actor playing Dr. Rick was a good choice for the character.

That Portuguese bakery woman is going to send me over the edge, then there's the kid with the plant, the little kid with the donated booties and, of course, the wheelchair dancers. Over and over and over and over all day long.

It’s probably cause my wife says I’m really good at tuning out noise. At least I think she says something like that
