I wanted to send a certain kind of centerpiece arrangement to relatives in a small town. I checked florists in the town, and didn't see what I wanted. So I went to From You Flowers. I picked what I wanted. When I put the zip in the field, I got the message that the arrangement was not available for delivery to that zip. Same thing happened when I last sent flowers to them and I had to settle for something else. This time, I had a solution. They are my daughter's in-laws. She and my son-in-law will come to my house, then travel to his parents' house. I asked my daughter if she could take the arrangement for me and she said she would. I ordered the arrangement I wanted to come to my house, the day before the trip to the in-laws. So far, so good.
I don't understand why fyf has blurbs on its site that they have national delivery, but evidently small rural towns in s.e. Ohio are as inaccessible as Nome, Alaska. There are roads into and out of town, in all directions, and they are even paved.

(3,273 posts)I actually found that Costco has same day delivery for flowers as well as scheduled delivery for flowers and fancier arrangements.

(22,742 posts)I'll look at the Costco site and see if that would work here.
Thanks for the idea.

(54,076 posts)They skim the profitable business by not serving rural deliveries. And it's likely all contractual with local florists. If locals don't like the payout they won't fill the order. I had the same problem, in a small city. Sounded like there was one delivery route, if you missed that it was wait until the next day.
