Maybe people don't like winter

Because it's so variable. We got about 4" of snow, which is the 3rd accumulation since the middle of Nov. For the last 2 or 3 years, we've had very little snow, either flurries or accumulation. No matter what, for 3 months out of the year, we have to keep in mind that we might get rain, sleet, snow, or maybe all 3, and keep our plans flexible. The temperature tomorrow is going to be 8. The temperature on Th. is going to be 60. Who wants to put up with crazy?!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

We're spending this winter on the Pacific side of Panama. 85º F most days. I've had enough of cold and snow.

Just a trace of snow so far this year but we do need the moisture, preferably rain. Relatively mild, seasonal temperatures so far this season. I get along fine with snow and cold, but I don’t have to get out in it, although I do. My nemesis is the wind. Hard on the body.

I was looking through one of my planners from a few years ago noticed it was 83 during the day, and we got 3 inches of snow overnight. Oh joy.

going to bounce around again. Hello from NE Kansas!

I hate the cold but I have to be in it more than I care to be because I still have a few horses.

The shortest day of the year; the turning point for more daylight and closer to spring equinox!

said something about meteorological winter beginning Dec. 1.

I prefer to stick to Dec. 21st as the first day of winter.

(The meteorologist is a pro. Worked on tv. locally, recently got job in Kansas. But he is keeping up his Facebook page forecasting local weather.)
