I prefer Venmo. I use it for my business and it's pretty flawless. My wife likes apple pay.

She just holds her watch against the touchpad thing for cards and pays with that.

Pay pal and Venmo are mutually exclusive. I use Venmo and have had zero issues.

The OP gave no reason for not wanting to use PayPal. Just pointing out the Venmo was owned by PayPal in case there was a particular reason.
I have no issues with either and use both
