That's how they see it. Me? At least once each holiday season, I have a nice, friendly mini rant in a store about how people who want us to stop saying happy holidays and seasons greetings need to time travel back to the 1800's and stop.people from popularizing the term via their new invention, greeting cards. And then I point out that if you want to fault someone, you're on your own trashing Bing Crosby for singing and Irving Berlin for writing that perrenial Christmas classic, "Happy Holidays" or any other holiday song. Then I remind everyone that stores advertise to sell shit, not to be PC or anything other than to sell the most shit to the largest number of people they can, and that means including everyone who might buy a gift for any reason on a holiday. It's not dissing Jesus, he's just not a factor in their job of selling shit. Using Happy Holidays includes every potential customer and at one time was the least objectionable, most benevolent holiday greeting ever written.
