(463 posts)Your security suite likely includes a VPN that is turned on automatically every time you start (boot up) the computer. There are quite a few sites that do not work if your VPN indicates you are in Moldova or some other place.

(463 posts)If the VPN was turned off, you need to reload the page for the You-tube video to recognize the change. My security software constantly turns the VPN on each time we boot up the computer or restart it (McAfee). I generally have it set to Australia or another location overseas. But I have also noticed our satellite provider (right now it is Starlink) also makes sites think we are in Chicago or some other place (IP address of the internet provider or relay station).
I use Firefox as my primary browser. But there are times when we have to use another browser because a website was optimized for another browser (my insurance company's website will only work with Google Chrome). You could try another browser and see if the same problem exists with You-tube videos.
Best of luck.

(5,535 posts)I thought it had something to do with YouTube itself. It eventually resolved without any action from me. It was annoying while it lasted.
