I love a green bean casserole

I frenched the (fresh) green beans, made the mushroom soup from scratch, fried onions myself. It took hours, and was maybe 10% better than the normal recipe. Once was enough.

That said, when I do make it (about every 4-5 years) I use fresh green beans, and often add some fresh mushrooms, but canned cream of mushroom soup and fried onions are fine for me.

Just can't do canned soup (yet, I'm only 75).

I’m not really a fan of canned cream of mushroom soup. When I was a kid, an uncle and I used to send a can back and forth to each other as a joke.

And please don’t try to lure vegetarians to your holiday dinner by promising them this will be there.
