(22,777 posts)In addition to playing the music, he did goofy skits as the Tooth Fairy and one called Super Chicken. (Hey! I wasn't but a tween at the time, so easily entertained.)
We picked up those playlists, new every week, in the record departments of the department store. What I really miss is that they played multiple genres so we were exposed to and gained appreciation all kinds of contemporary music.
ETA: Purely coincidental, I heard Hang on Sloopy by The McCoys incl. a young Rick Derringer, while I was out running a couple errands today.

(53,364 posts)We used to go to Snow Trails Ski Area just about every Saturday night to hear one of the bands. It was funny, too. I encountered the Music Explosion on a trip to Florida after leaving Ohio.

The guitarist for Glass Harp, Phil Keaggy lost part of a right finger at the age of 4.

My sister would leave the car radio on full blast and my Dad was surprised, not delighted, when he drove it after her. Good times
