I was a tank crewman in the Army. This guy’s accommodations are spacious and luxurious by comparison. I like small, cozy spaces.

(4,050 posts)I painstakingly taught them to build fires what I consider the right way and after a few camping trips ensuring they got it. I pulled out my torch and did the deed. Had a great laugh and caught some shit from them. Good times. haha

(96,261 posts)As a tent alternative! It's great for a camping unit or emergency shelter. I like the bunk and that it's on a trailer.
And I would have loved something like that when I was homeless.

(108,917 posts)(or more). Mister Survivor might then learn the value of parking his little structure within a treed area to serve as a windbreak. It would not take too many wind gusts to topple in the middle of that field. It might make his middle-of-the-night treks to the greater outdoor "toilet" a little easier as well.
Likewise, if this was meant to be a living structure in a wilderness area, he sure as hell should have included drop-down wood panels to cover and protect those windows.
'Guess I've lived out here too long to be less than practical and I have learned from the best how to survive the backcountry in really bad storms, avoid avalanches, and find cover when necessary--albeit I never pushed the envelope. I'm not convinced this guy has learned any of those lessons. But, it is a cute little house in a calm light snow.

(13,226 posts)I found myself being more conscious and present during every little ordinary task I performed soon after seeing it, like making a cup of coffee or going out to pick up the mail. Normally I do things on autopilot and my mind is elsewhere. Fortunately, the effect passes within an hour.

I must admit that camping out on the ice for a weekend is a fun adventure if you have the right equipment.
