But, when the shower is on, she won't go near it. When I get into the shower, she grabs her comfort toy (a little wind up chicken) and howls until I get out of the shower. So, I've learned to tell her first, before I get into the shower, that I'm going to do it and that it's ok. She knows the word "here" and "it's ok." Also knows my name. So I point to the shower, say my name followed by "here," and then, "It's ok." When I do that, she doesn't howl.
