I’m not much into Christmas music except for this rendition and earlier I put on Celine Dion’s Ave Maria…that one gets me. I switched over to JD Lang and her version of Hallelujah that brought the house down..just got in the mood for different holiday music and the Tabernacle Choir put it over the top. Thank you 🎄

In over 20 years. Such an amazing oratorio!
Thanks for sharing.

that it must take a lot of rehearsals.

I have a good speaking voice, but my singing voice is better suited to mime. Can't hold a tune. So I'd never sing in a chorus or choir.

I am curious of whether the oratorio specifies the size of the choir and of the orchestra

(I only recently decided to call it this. )

I was singing in the choir at Calvary Episcopal Church in Manhattan ( mid 70s). There was a high school chorus that needed some adult voices to help them perform the Hallelujah Chorus.

On the night of the concert, we all met and rode the subway to our destination. Someone suggested and with little more encouragement we all treated that subway car to a private concert.
