Ranking Member Robert Garcia, Rep. Ro Khanna Joint Statement on Deposition of Epstein Accountant Richard Kahn

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and Rep. Ro Khanna, sent a letter to Daniel Ruzumna, attorney for Epstein accountant and estate co-executor Richard Kahn, requesting corrections to testimony about “Jane Doe 4,” a woman who made allegations against both Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump. During Mr. Kahn’s deposition, he and his attorney made contradictory statements about whether Jane Doe 4 received a settlement from the Epstein estate. In response to a question from Congressman Ro Khanna, they initially confirmed that she had received a settlement but later denied it. The letter can be found here.

“In a statement during the deposition of Epstein accountant Richard Kahn, Mr. Kahn’s attorney claimed that Jane Doe 4, who accused both Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein of abuse, never received any settlement from the estate. Now, Mr. Kahn’s attorney says he can no longer confirm or deny there was a settlement. Congress and the public deserve a clear answer about whether the Epstein Estate paid a settlement to an accuser who made serious allegations against Donald Trump, and who was interviewed 4 times by the FBI. Richard Kahn needs to come clean about what the Epstein Estate knows,” stated the members.

Timeline

On March 11, 2026, Mr. Richard Kahn testified in response to Representative Ro Khanna that “Jane Doe 4”—whom Rep. Khanna described as a woman who made allegations against President Donald Trump—had received a settlement from the Epstein Estate.

Later in the deposition, when Oversight Democratic staff attorneys again asked about settlements involving “Jane Doe 4,” Kahn’s attorney sought clarification about the individual’s identity. After consulting with his client, Kahn’s attorney stated on the record that Mr. Kahn’s earlier testimony had been mistaken and that neither he nor Mr. Kahn recognized “Jane Doe 4” as someone who had filed a claim against the Epstein estate.

On March 12, 2026, Kahn’s attorney told Oversight Democratic staff attorneys that “Jane Doe 4” had in fact filed a claim against the estate, but that the claim had been denied and no settlement had been reached. This statement was also inaccurate.

During a second call later that day, Kahn’s attorney said he could no longer stand by the claim that no settlement had been reached with “Jane Doe 4,” and that he could neither confirm nor deny whether a settlement had occurred.

Those things usually also say there is no admission of liability.
