🇨🇦 Canadians boycotting the United States are actually moving the needle. Las Vegas alone has taken a four-billion-dol

🇨🇦 Canadians boycotting the United States are actually moving the needle. Las Vegas alone has taken a four-billion-dollar hit because Canadians chose not to go. The American alcohol industry is down another nine hundred million. That is real impact.

Canadian boycott of US travel shows no sign of slowing

13 November 2025 Madeline Halpert

Kristy Gammon used to travel to the US from Canada at least once every other year, taking ski trips at Lake Placid in New York and travelling to Baltimore, Maryland, for her husband's favourite Orioles baseball games.

But those trips are now over, she said. .............

Since President Donald Trump took office earlier this year, the 62-year-old said she and most of her Canadian friends have decided to stop visiting the US as a way of protesting policies they oppose and trade actions Trump has taken against Canada.

"There are so many things that we just feel aghast about in terms of how [the administration] is acting internationally, behaving toward their own citizens, how they're treating their allies and neighbours, i.e. Canada," Ms Gammon said.
.....................

October marked the 10th straight month of decline in the number of Canadian travellers to the US. Air travel from Canada to the US dropped nearly 24%, while car travel fell more than 30% when compared to the same period last year, according to data released this week by Canada's statistics office..........................

I imagine that many travelers had prepaid vacations planned that they decided not to cancel this year. Next year will be much worse. Those travelers aren't making reservations in the U.S. now.

The federal workers who quit, resigned or took early retirements. They have not replaced those jobs. It's a hit job on state and federal tax revenue. It's a hit job on our local economies.

We have several groups and apps now that help others buy by showcasing Canadian products. I would say in my circle alone most people look for Canadian goods first in both groceries and other products. Prior to Trump people never looked where their food or clothing or appliances came from, now we try to buy Canadian and if not buy anything but made in USA. People have forced our stores to highlight Canadian made and while it is a little more difficult to find produce in the winter, so far the only US produce I buy is celery this winter, as I cannot find any from Mexico. It has been amazing that the store that has adapted to Canadian products the best, is Costco. It takes a little work on the part of the consumer to search out goods, but it is working very well here. I hope you can do the same there with your boycotts of stores like Target and Amazon etc.

is a US citizen who married a Canadian and has lived in Canada for over 25 years. All of her family of origin is still in the states, but she refuses to come here as long as IT is in the WH.
I second that emotion. When she and I travel together, we travel in Canada or in another country all together.

destroying cities and large companies, all by himself. For absolutely no reason at all.

Ya know, When I was growing up, someone smarter than me told me that if you try something new to make things better, and it doesn't work, you stop, go back to the drawing board and try somethings else. Not this loser. I can't even imagine how bad this might be in the next 3 years.

The writing is on the wall. Cognitive decline, sleeping during important meetings. Admission of killing people in the open ocean, without real facts to back up what he did. Making piss poor decisions. And this is just the beginning. Oh yeah, don't forget the constant lying.

The Supreme Court made a HUGE mistake giving this yahoo free reign to do what ever he wants, whether it's legal or not. THIS IS NOT AN AUTOCRACY!!!! Not yet

Impeach, prosecute, jail.
