Corporate media’s pro-Trump bias has never been worse than it is now. The way the Press covered yesterday’s PR stunt—fraudulently presented by Republicans as a confirmation hearing—is a perfect example of that.

I assumed they would see through the GOP’s hollow questions, and report that maga didn’t push back on Hegseth’s bogus answers at all. Or how they refused to allow a second round of questioning. Surely, I thought, they’d cover how fiercely Democrats went after him.

AP, BBC, Bloomberg, CBS, CNN, The Hill, NBC, PBS, and WaPo all thought it was important for us to hear their “takeaways”—which were really just sanewashed summary pieces serving as clickbait.

The NY Times wrote Hegseth “said nothing that would alienate the Republican senators” on the Committee. They went on to say he “portrayed his life as a redemption story,” and that “Republicans praised his communication skills.” Wow, what a controversial take.
