House Republicans have felt more optimistic about the midterm elections in recent weeks following a series of legal victories that have facilitated a gerrymandering blitz in GOP-controlled states, but behind closed doors, the leader of the GOP President Donald Trump appears to have already resigned to losing, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday night.
At times, the president has seemed resigned to losing, pointing out that the party in control almost always suffers in the midterms, The Journals report reads. Privately, Trump has occasionally told aides that he doesnt care about the outcome, according to people familiar with the comments.
Trumps alleged private remarks that hes indifferent to the outcome of the midterm elections come in the wake of his controversial remarks on Tuesday expressing indifference to another matter: Americans financial situation.. I dont think about Americans financial situation, Trump said when asked whether Americans financial situations motivated him to end his deeply unpopular war against Iran, which has sent prices skyrocketing.
Trump has an enormous war chest to potentially help bolster Republicans election prospects in November, though some GOP lawmakers and candidates have grown increasingly anxious that the president may withhold the $347 million his super PAC has in its coffers.

(55,357 posts)It's a lie.
Or manipulation.
Or both.
Suppose Trump wanted it to get out that he's resigned to losing the Midterms? He'd say, "Get it out, but make it look like I said it privately." And sources would report just that: He accepts that he's going to lose his death-grip on the Government.
Huh uh. Nope.
He knows the ONLY way he'll keep control of The House is to prevent the anticipated BLUE WAVE. And less Democrats and Independents and angry MAGAts will come out to vote at Midterms, because their attitude would be, "Why should I vote if someone else will do the voting for me and we'll get the same result?" Because Trump tricked them into staying home.
Will his "strategy" win? Possibly, but not probably.
WE STILL HAVE TO VOTE, REGISTER MORE TO VOTE AND HAVE THEM VOTE.

(783 posts)He and his sons have already fleeced the government and all the suckers trying to cozy up to power out of Billions. I don't think he gives a shit about anything but his image and staying out of prison.

(55,518 posts)and his only goal was to make money during the campaign. He did NOT want to be POTUS at that time. He viewed it as a grift and when he won he was "Oh shit, this is real".
Then he started his reality show on TV every night as he interviewed various cabinet member for various positions. All the MSM waited with baited breath for him to tell the world what he served for dinner and THAT is why we are here right now!
Once the MSM TV latched onto his Apprentice series(I never watched a single episode...total BS trash) celebrity crap he started to like being POTUS. He got attention and money and knew he could gain even more personal wealth as well as spread his racist and misogynistic agenda....power, control, revenge, sadism, etc.
I remember it clearly, even though I had been extremely ill for 3 months. You can still find/see the live news clip of tRump's face. He was in shock, but not "happy" shock. He was in "Oh, shit" shock when the election results were announced. Everyone around him him was joyous and clapping (including his spawn) except for him.

I guess I'll have to wait til the next Presidential election, when hopefully a Democrat wins. We'll probably never be completely free of the donald until he's physically gone. I doubt any of his spawn will carry on as successfully as he did. They've got nothing except "Hi. My dad is Donald Trump. It'd be great if you could give me/vote for me/support me/wait on me/donate to me..." or whatever it is that any of them will want by then.

(7,935 posts)because he and the tech bros have it all covered... just as they did in the last presidential election. Electoral theft all around for the R's. Even if he dies in office, no one will know it. We'll have the first "Weekend at Bernies" presidency!
