US issues worldwide security alert urging caution as Iran-linked groups may target American interests

The US Department of State issued a worldwide security alert Sunday, urging Americans across the globe to be wary of threats from Iran-linked groups.

“The Department of State advises Americans worldwide, and especially in the Middle East, to exercise increased caution. Americans abroad should follow the guidance in security alerts issued by the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate,” the State Department said in a statement.

“Periodic airspace closures may cause travel disruptions. U.S. diplomatic facilities, including outside the Middle East, have been targeted,” the warning continued.

“Groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or locations associated with the United States and/or Americans throughout the world.”

The alert comes after Iranian military spokesman Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi issued a chilling threat on Friday, warning that Tehran terrorists will now be targeting popular tourism havens as the US and Israel continue their attacks against Iran.

What the US has done/is doing is negatively impacting people all over the world (fuel, fertilizer, helium, etc). Some of those impacts are time sensitive, aka bells which cannot be un-rung. Those people are going to be pissed off -- at the US. Some of those people may act on that anger.

And of course they've never understood the warning that "those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it". Problem is, we do the repeating more than they do. We don't need to repeat the attacks on the WTC (one car bombing, then the airplanes), the Pentagon, or the attempted attack on the Capitol. Our "leaders" need to learn from them and NOT FUCK UP AGAIN -- meaning the GOP, who were responsible for all the previous fuckups, and are now adding to their list.
