Trump hits out at Starmer over Iran: 'This is not Winston Churchill we're dealing with'

Speaking at the White House, the US president unleashed another rant about the UK, claiming Sir Keir had been "very uncooperative" and had "ruined relationships" over Iran and the Chagos Islands.

Appearing to refer to the Diego Garcia base in the Chagos Islands, Mr Trump added: "That island... It's taken three, four days, for us to work out where we can land there; it would have been much more convenient landing there as opposed to flying many extra hours, so we are very surprised."

"This is not Winston Churchill that we're dealing with," he added.

Mr Trump went on to express his disapproval at Britain's deal to hand the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, saying the UK has "ruined relationships" over the "stupid island".

during the war, but got rid of him as soon as the war was over. He was too conservative for them. He had also flubbed up several times in military positions that he held before the war. His main interest in WWII was preserving the empire. His domestic policies did not appeal to Brits.

Starmer doesn't smoke cigars, or at all for that matter, while Churchill seemed to always have one in his hand.
That makes telling them apart really easy. I wonder how long it took Trump to figure that out.

This may be the first thing Trump said in the past few months that's actually true.
