The gold medal–winning U.S. women’s hockey team has declined an invitation to attend President Donald Trump’s upcoming State of the Union address, citing prior commitments.

A spokesperson for USA Hockey confirmed that the team was invited to the event but would be unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts. The statement emphasized the players’ appreciation for the recognition while making clear that existing obligations would prevent their participation .

“We are sincerely grateful for the invitation extended to our gold medal–winning U.S. Women’s Hockey Team and deeply appreciate the recognition of their extraordinary achievement,” the spokesperson said. “They were honored to be included and are grateful for the acknowledgment.”.................

BREAKING: The US Olympic women’s hockey team has REFUSED Trump’s invitation to visit the White House after he insulted them!

It looks like the President won’t be sharing the spotlight with the gold medal-winning Team USA women’s hockey team, who "sincerely appreciate the invitation but "due to the timing and previously scheduled academic and professional commitments following the Games, the athletes are unable to participate,” said the team in a statement.

Obviously, they had to be polite about it, but it’s not hard to figure out why they WOULD’NT want to come.

On top of his authoritarianism, his association with pedophiles, his disgusting racism, his long history of sexual assault and misogyny, he also insulted the team during a phone call with the men’s squad, saying "I must tell you, we're going to have to bring the women's team, you do know that. I do believe I probably would be impeached."

Thanks, Trump, nice to know the women of Team USA are an irritating afterthought despite winning 8 out of the 12 gold medals picked up by Team USA.

The women’s hockey team is well rid of him and his lime-light-hungry cronies.
