Republican Candidate Drops Out After Redistricting Blocked: 'Difficult Seat'

A Republican congressional candidate in Indiana has dropped out of the race, amid what she described as “egregious gerrymandering,” describing the seat she had hoped to win as “an extremely difficult” one for Republicans to win.

“Indiana’s legislature sadly chose not to redistrict Indiana congressional map to counter Democrats’ egregious gerrymandering and their counting of illegal immigrants in the census,” former Indiana Public Safety Secretary Jennifer-Ruth Green said in a statement one day prior the state’s filing deadline, as reported by The Hill.

“IN-01 remains an extremely difficult seat for a Republican to compete in and win. With your help, we ran a strong race in 2022 and put this district on the map,” she continued.

“Having been through it once, I understand the harsh reality: to win this seat, there is no margin for error.”

big brass ones. Republicans will not defend their positions as their positions are indefensible. They have a simple formula for elections. Lie, if that doesn't work, cheat. If that doesn't work, whine about it and stomp your feet for the next decade. They never go away.
