Speculation in Italy over ICE’s involvement in the games, which begin on 6 February, had been brewing for days and mounted further on Monday after the president of Lombardy region, Attilio Fontana, said on Monday that the US vice-president, JD Vance, and secretary of state, Marco Rubio, would be protected by ICE “bodyguards” at the Olympics.

The speculation fuelled outrage in Italy over ICE’s immigration operations, especially after the fatal shootings this month of the US citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.

The daily newspaper La Repubblica claimed Italy’s far-right government, which has nurtured friendly relations with Donald Trump’s administration, had briefly looked into blocking the participation of ICE agents in the delegation, but that would have required a departure from how US officials are usually protected during similar high-profile visits abroad.

Milan’s mayor, Giuseppe Sala, told RTL radio that the agents would not be welcome in the city “because they don’t guarantee they’re aligned with our democratic security management methods”.

My first reaction to reading this was, "Jeez, they just keep making themselves look worse!"

They may have singled him out after this alleged previous encounter with ICE and if so, should have known about his concealed firearms permit. They are using video surveillance with facial recognition software to compile personal data on protesters. They may have used that information to target him as an "agitator" and justify this armed response by the goon squad. And one of the agents quickly left the scene after taking the gun from Pretti. It does seem to fit the false narrative of using deadly force against protesters who may be cast as assaulting officers by being behind the wheel of a car or in possession of a firearm.

What are the names of the people who plotted this, with murderous intentions. Both Good and now Pretti.

What are the names of the fascist goons who set up and surrounded Pretti? Who fired the many, many shots? Who tackled him? Who pepper sprayed him? Who pushed the lady to the ground?

He thinks this will hurt them. He thinks they will suffer the consequences of the men with tiki torches in Charlottesville and the rioters on J6 who lost their jobs, or the fate ICE agents fear if they take off their masks. He doesn't understand that resisting ICE will make them heros. Alex Pettri is on a brilliant mural in Seattle lifting up lady justice in white, who looks like the woman he was trying to save. His picture is on a billboard in Times Square.

These guys are so twisted they don't understand how hated they are. They don't recognize courage and compassion. They don't know we won't fall for their lies any more.
