Microsoft investigating outage affecting Microsoft 365, Outlook and other services

Source: CBS News

Thousands of Microsoft customers are reporting difficulty accessing the technology company's suite of Microsoft 365 services, including email platform Outlook, Teams and other tools.

At 4:14 p.m. EST, Microsoft said in a statement on X that it had "restored the affected infrastructure to a healthy state."

In a later post, however, the company said it was still "rebalancing traffic across all affected infrastructure to ensure the environment enters into a balanced state."

As of late Thursday afternoon, some social media users were still complaining that they were unable to access Microsoft 365 tools. "We cannot even email. This is not fixed," one person said on X.

This is bad. My email is with Microsoft. I have not been able to send or receive since about 11 am Pacific Time today.

Microsoft won't say what the cause is, which makes me think it is some sort of hack/cyber attack on them.

It would be such a pain to switch all my accounts to a new email.

Took me hours to get my drivers straightened out. Second time this has happened in the last six months, the update changes my graphics and sound drivers to versions that won't work.

Not a fan of Windows 11...had to spend a lot of time disabling spyware after my install, Outlook and Edge among them. One day soon I'm going to build a Steam Box...feel like I've been a hostage of Microsoft for over thirty years.
