Bari Weiss to Host Erika Kirk Discussion for CBS News; Audience Will Include 'Young Evangelicals,' Religious and Politic

By Todd Spangler
Bari Weiss, founder of The Free Press who is now also editor-in-chief of CBS News, is hosting a "town hall" forum with Erika Kirk, the widow of murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk, for the news network.
"Three months after her husband was assassinated, Erika Kirk will open up about life, loss, the state of political discourse, and much more," CBS News said in announcing the special.
The one-hour "A Town Hall With Erika Kirk" moderated by Weiss will be broadcast Saturday, Dec. 13, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and will stream later on Paramount+ and CBS News 24/7. The special preempts the previously announced broadcast of the 28th annual Family Film and TV Awards, which will now air Saturday, Dec. 20 (8-9 p.m. ET/PT) on CBS and Paramount+.
The event, shot before an invitation-only studio audience in New York, will feature Kirk "fielding questions from young evangelicals, prominent religious leaders, and figures across the political spectrum," according to CBS News. The conversation will also "focus on our country's political divide -- and how we can find our way out."

CBS is probably hoping Army-Navy viewers will stay tuned to see this special, but I'd imagine they'll lose most of that audience.

So, there won't be any such episode... will there?
Okay, what about the Hoffmans? Are they going to get a 'town hall' as well? No? Didn't think so.
Why doesn't CBS change their colors to orange and gold to commemorate the complete ability to kiss that gibbon's ass while also kissing his cronies asses to make sure they are safe?

This does not belong on a public broadcast. Garbage like this belongs on a radical right wing fringe podcast. Once word gets out, I'm hoping for a groundswell of outrage that forces CBS/Paramount to reconsider the broadcast.

Erika Kirk will open up about life, loss, the state of political discourse, and much more.
And what qualifies her to speak on any of that?

That's a very specific and hate filled audience they are trying to grab at. They are trying to be Fox but without the spill over audience from the NFL games. Do they really think a lot of Americans want to see this Nazi BS with a hate filled Christian cruelty twist? They can go to their churches to see that.

(22,485 posts)Around here, if you don't pay for a cable connection, you don't get any channels. Sometimes, I try to get on a network channel online, and the site asks me if I have cable. And that's that. I think the last time I tried, I was trying to watch the Preakness last summer.
