Local pd could be protecting citizens and peaceful protesting residents. But so far, I've yet to see any department.turn outward to protect the people of their towns from the armed militant external force invading their community.

and like any type of government entity, there are SOPs (Standards of Procedure) and guidance documents that would need a review and revision (including by that government's legal entity) for how to proceed in these circumstances.

NORMALLY, feds have "partnerships" (including MOUs - Memorandums of Understanding) with state and local governments and there is little or no rancor with respect to that. But with a new fascist fed in place, there will need to be some hard discussions about what can and cannot be done.

What i am curious about is why when protests happen, democratic mayors of blue cities have their police departments face off with the protestors, rather than use them to create a ring of protection around them, facing outward.

And when faceless armed people are going around kidnapping people, why are local PD not tasked with finding and detaining such persons? If they have proof of who they are, and they are "legit" LE, let them go. But why are local PD letting unidentified armed groups roam their towns with no attempt to even properly ID them?

There will be people from about 12 countries there, too. Arabs, Turks, Israelis, Germans, Americans, several others, plenty without legitimate residency permits for the USA, too.

But I think ICE will be nowhere to be seen. Our event is being hosted by Amerika Haus in Köln (Cologne), Germany, and if any ICE goons show up there with guns and no German gun permits, that is one of the few things that WILL get German cops to draw their guns, and use them on anyone who will not surrender theirs immediately.
