Exclusive: Trump team asks three US senior career diplomats to resign, sources say

Source: Reuters

January 15, 2025 4:36 PM EST Updated 12 hours ago

WASHINGTON, Jan 15 (Reuters) - Aides to President-elect Donald Trump have asked three senior career diplomats who oversee the U.S. State Department's workforce and internal coordination to step down from their roles, two U.S. officials familiar with the matter said, in a possible signal of deeper changes ahead for the diplomatic corps.

The team overseeing the State Department's transition to the new administration, the Agency Review Team, has requested that Dereck Hogan, Marcia Bernicat and Alaina Teplitz leave their posts, the sources said.

While political appointees typically submit their resignations when a new president takes office, most career foreign service officers continue from one administration to the next. All three officials have worked in both Democratic and Republican administrations throughout the years, including as ambassadors.

Trump, who will be inaugurated Jan. 20, pledged during his presidential campaign to "clean out the deep state" by firing bureaucrats that he deems as disloyal. There's a little bit of a concern that this might be setting the stage for something worse," one of the U.S. officials familiar with the matter said.

I’m immediately retirement eligible. I can be gone in less than two hours if need be. It’s a silver bullet that I can only use once, but it’s in my arsenal.

The pattern seems to be going to repeat. This time to include the DoD, as well.

Yet, he’s trying to claim some influence on a ceasefire.

. . . There's a little bit of a concern that this might be setting the stage for something worse,"

"A little bit of concern????!!!!!????" NO SHIT, SHERLOCK.

That, my friends, is the heart of the problem: Most of us are decent, normal people. We cannot understand just how evil, vile, filthy, disgusting, nasty, Trump and his people are. And it's not an act with them -- that's the way they are. Get used to it because this is just the beginning of the beginning.

When someone demonstrates to you he is a piece of shit, that means he really is a piece of shit.

Many just do not understand what we have been, and will be, dealing with here.

We should have been trying to tear this scum apart for years. They will most certainly try and do that to us and the country now.

all these Government employees tsf wants to fire are the very ones who'll stand in his way of
becoming king, they should all lie and claim they'll be loyal. tsf lies all the time, turn around is
fair play.

I'm sure that they have reviews in their personnel files. They would need to be fired for cause and then they could sue.

They should NOT retire themselves

Others buy their way to these coveted roles. I guess that's what the wealth of the oligarchs can buy them: A bit of class like this ripesuck below.
