President Donald Trump's administration last week relaxed school-lunch rules championed by former first lady Michelle Obama and meant to make school lunches healthier.

The program is now again making room on menus for noodles, biscuits and other foods made of refined grains. The White House is scaling back school lunch standards requiring that only whole grains be served.The standards were implemented in 2012 under former President Barack Obama.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture last week said only half the grains served in school lunches will need to be whole grains.

Low-fat chocolate milk and a final goal of limiting sodium will also be scrapped with the relaxed rules.

This will echo back up the ladder to Pharma and medical device companies, as spending on their products will necessarily be cut back at all levels of healthcare.

I was diagnosed with Crohns; four years later I was diagnosed with lymphoma.

I have since learned that some patients with Crohns are at higher risk for lymphoma.

You may not like Senator Marshall’s politics, (and I certainly don’t).. However, as a physician myself, I believe he is correct in stating that our lifestyle choices have a huge impact on our health. Good nutrition, regular exercise, avoiding tobacco, prudent driving habits and sparing use of alcohol are all factors under our control, that can significantly improve our personal health outcomes.

I need a knee replacement: I'd say about 70% of that is my abuse of my knees from hiking, digging holes in the garden, and carrying heavy objects - all without being in top condition - for 60 years.

But about 30% of that is being bowlegged.

Or maybe it's the opposite - 70% bowlegged, 30% use and abuse?
