Iran pledges to support Canada, Panama and Greenland against US 'aggression and terrorism'

Source: The Mirror

Iran has pledged support to Canada, Panama, Mexico and Greenland against US 'aggression and terrorism' as incoming President Donald Trump continues to threaten to seize the Panama Canal and Greenland, perhaps by force.

Trump has also said he will use economic coercion to pressure Canada to become the nation’s 51st state and suggested renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.

A verified social media account for the Iran military, which provides updates on the Islamic Republic of Iran Armed Forces, pledged support to the embattled countries. The post read: "Just as we have always stood ready to support other nations, Iran is prepared to assist Canada, Mexico, Panama, and Greenland against U.S. aggression and terrorism."

Great. Now Trump will talk about how Canada (and the other countries listed) is cozying up to terrorist regimes.

Iran Air Flight 655, an Airbus A300 with 290 people on board, was blown from the skies by a missile fired from the guided-missile cruiser USS Vincennes as it flew over the Persian Gulf from Iran to Dubai on 3 July 1988.

Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 was shot down by the IRGC thinking it was an American cruise missile. A few days prior to this tragedy a US missile killed IRGC General Qasem Soleimani, so Iranian air defense personnel were on edge. The Iranians were embarrassed by the incident and tried to cover it up, but the truth eventually emerged.

Expect more incidents and mishaps with the Iranians as many of Trumpf's incoming national security people have an irrational animus of Iran. In the world of intelligence collection and global diplomacy, there is no room for illogical hatred.

"Be afraid be very afraid of us"

I wonder if they will get BRIC to join them? Will they bring this non-war to the UN?
