Nationwide Food Recall: Wolverine Packing Co. Recalls 167,277 Pounds of Ground Beef Products Due to Possible E. Coli

Source: USDA FSIS

Wolverine Packing Co. in Detroit, MI is recalling approximately 167,277 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the USDA Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

There is nothing more reputable as a news source than reading the information straight from the laboratory.

Minnesota health authorities first detected the outbreak with 15 patients. The tainted ground beef was shipped to restaurant locations nationwide.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in restaurant refrigerators or freezers. Restaurants are urged not to serve these products. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider. E. coli O157:H7 is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps 2–8 days (3–4 days, on average) after exposure the organism. While most people recover within a week, some develop a type of kidney failure called hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). This condition can occur among persons of any age but is most common in children under 5-years old and older adults. It is marked by easy bruising, pallor, and decreased urine output. Persons who experience these symptoms should seek emergency medical care immediately.

Consumers and members of the media with questions about the recall can contact Don Tanner, company representative at (248) 762-1533.

Consumers with food safety questions can call the toll-free USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-MPHotline (888-674-6854) or send a question via email to MPHotline@usda.gov.

For consumers that need to report a problem with a meat, poultry, or egg product, the online Electronic Consumer Complaint Monitoring System can be accessed 24 hours a day at https://foodcomplaint.fsis.usda.gov/eCCF/.

The Project 2025 team that is being appointed to key positions will gut food safety and worker safety regulations. In addition, most programs for the poor will be eliminated, forcing parents to send untrained teens to work in the food industry that will need workers once undocumented workers are put in concentration camps and eventually deported.

Most of our food may not be safe to eat in a couple of years. I wish I had space to at least grow my own vegetables.

15 patients in Minnesota were sickened after eating the beef, the release said, with illness onset dates ranging from Nov. 2 to Nov. 10.

No other states or illnesses were included in the release.

Yesterday I had my second fast food hamburger for this year, picked this one up from Jack in the box. I don’t often eat red meat.

I’d really like to know the restaurants and states also.

There seems to be way more and with a larger reach, of these food recalls over the last few years. I can only assume it’s going to now get worse.

My rarely eating fast food is going to change to never.

This is a disaster that the USDA FSIS is earnestly trying to mitigate.

What in the world is going to happen to USDA FSIS and other regulatory bodies that get gutted for "inefficiency" and "profit-killing" when the Orange Regime takes over next year?
