Alaska Division of Elections asking for public's help in cleaning up voter rolls
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) -The state of Alaska is asking residents to help clean up the voter rolls as we head into future election cycle.
The Alaska Division of Elections is sending out a flyer called the voter registration confirmation notice, which helps the state determine where voters are. The annual process is a maintenance process where the state sends out one flyer to determine if a voter is still active at a residence.
As part of the required list maintenance process that is required by statute and by the National Voter Registration Act, director of the Alaska Division of Elections, Carol Beecher, explained.
Beecher said its important to fill out the form and mail it back to the division, because if you dont, then inactive voters will continue to be listed at the address, which could cause your mailbox to overflow with additional flyers you may not want.
