Stockton referendum could affect proposed solar project, future developments

UPDATE (6:10 p.m.): “We are racing the clock right now,” said Megan Fowler with Stop Solar in Stockton.

That race started two months ago, when Stockton residents learned that a massive solar plant might be moving into their neighborhood.

“We’re not anti-development, we’re not anti-growth, but we would like to have some kind of input, and this would give us a better voice.”

4,500 acres of timberland are set to be purchased by Silicon Ranch to build a solar farm that will provide power to a Meta data center in Montgomery.
