Google Is Helpful, Even with Peeling Pool Paint

https://www.google.com/search?q=Peeling+pool+paint

Check it out. It's a very common problem, which doesn't surprise me. You paint the bottom of a pool, fill it with water, and little-by-little, the paint starts peeling off in large pieces. That's happening now at the reflecting pool in Washington, DC.

If you read some of the search results, you'll see lots of ideas for how to avoid peeling, but everyone seems to agree that it can happen, no matter what you do.

Maybe the folks Trump hired to paint "his" reflecting pool didn't read much about painting pools. Maybe they're more into garage floor coatings. I don't know. anyhow, the information is out there. Too bad nobody searched Google before doing the job....

It is also possible that the people he hired knew perfectly well, and didn't care as long as they got paid for the job. RockRaven Thursday #3

(Although, were they paid the 13 or whatever million or were they paid a small portion of that with the rest going to you-know-who?)

But, for what was spent, you'd think they'd have done whatever one does to avoid this happening.

But, our nation is now trying out "worst and dimmest" rather than "best and brightest"....it's not going well.

Considering that it was no-bid and they got paid an order of magnitude more than the initial estimate, they may have taken the "we'll do whatever the customer says, so long as the check clears" attitude.

I'm not talking about swimming pool guys, but people with university degrees, professional certifications, and years of experience designing and managing similar water features.

This is a showpiece of the United States Capitol. We could afford the best.
