7. He's been very successful at using his office to enrich himself and his family

He has attained the office of POtuS twice now. Wielding great power with a compliant Congress, much of his agenda has been enacted with DOGE and executive orders. He surrounds himself with gold, and has twice thrown expensive birthday parties for himself on the public dime.

ICE is massively funded to brutalize, detain, and deport brown skinned immigrants while terrorizing cities in blue states, even killing US citizens with impunity. Using the Dept of Justice as a weapon, he's been punishing his enemies with investigations and indictments. His billionaire cronies have been buying huge swaths of the news and entertainment media, adding to the rightwing propaganda machine.

What consequences has he actually paid for all his high crimes and misdemeanors? He spent no time in prison for his 34 felony convictions, and used his mug shot proudly. He got off scott free for his J6 & documents crimes. Even if he loses the midterms and is impeached by the House, it's highly doubful the Senate will convict. Recent Republican primaries prove he can still punish those who step out of line.

In terms of success or failure as a president, it all depends on what criteria you use. In terms of serving The People and America's interests, he's a massive failure. However, his intent has always been to serve himself, wield power, and feed his ego. So far, he's getting away with all of that.

His stupid war on Iran has been a massive failure, but what price will he personally pay for that, for the economic pain inflicted on Americans, or for greatly diminishing the USA in the eyes of the world and our former allies? When Donald Trump is viewed as a Russian asset, he his presidency has been a massive success.
