Things I want...

A working government.

Cars that have a solar panel in their hood and roof that charge the batteries. Also, every single school and community-owned building that can have panels, should have panels. Schools could provide their own power with those long flat roofs.

Since we can build massive cross country OIL pipelines, and we can desalinate water (a new experiment just found a way to draw the salts out without clogging the system-the salt is then available as salt, rather than being dumped back into the ocean and raising the local salinity-a MAJOR breakthrough). Why not build a 300 mile water pipeline to Lake Mead or even farther up the Colorado-using those miles in the pipeline to desalinate the water and provide an additional marketable amount of salt? How many other lakes and dried up oceans could we replenish this way, and save our coasts possibly by taking water out of the ocean and putting it back into the weather system elsewhere.

Since the people who need water for their giant data centers are often the same people telling us fracking water is safe-how about the data centers can only use fracking water? They have promised it is safe.

I would like a law that says purposefully or willfully abusing the environment is considered "poisoning the well" and treated as a capital crime against humanity.

If a church decides it does not need to keep church and state separate, they should be taxed on all income, any church official using the space to talk their politics should be taxed on income and THE VALUE OF THEIR HOUSING, uniforms, transportation, utilities-anything provided by the church down to that sip of wine they have a couple times a week. All church properties, be they charitable or otherwise, should then also be taxed at full value just like everybody else. I have no problem allowing freedom to religion, and not taxing them, but they need to stay in THEIR church and out of MY government. I do not agree to join their club. Period, but they have agreed to join ours, so they need to follow the rules.

ANd finally, for my friends the trees...cutting down an old growth tree would be jail time. How about one week for every ring?

Please... feel free to add on to this list.

Which was comfortable and fun to ride. Luxurious dining cars, club cars, roomy seats.

We do not need high speed rail. 1960's rail would be fine. WW2 rail Would be even better. We used to be able to get to damned near anywhere by train in a reasonable amount of time. With cell phones and laptops, we just don't have to get anywhere that quickly very much anymore

We HAVE to get to the opposite coast in hours, not days. We MUST NOT take an extra day or two off of rabbiting for the ruling class. Just so we can cram into tighter and tighter sardine cans watched over by armed Sky Marshals. A few mid-air blowouts and dropouts of these cheapo low-bid aluminum cans are a small price to pay - just "peanuts", actually. Power up that Big Bright Green Pleasure Machine!

Train derailments are much more survivable.

Aircraft contrails have a measurable impact on weather via cloud formation. Just look at how many fair-weather cloud formations, no matter how dispersed, are horizon-spanning linear forms. Research conducted on the planeless skies of 9/11 proved this.

Plus I really hate airports. Huge vastly polluting structures built far from population centers which require millions of extra car-miles, unlike the typical train stations in the center of populations. The many toxic chemicals needed to keep planes safely in the sky (fire retardants, deicers, etc) pollute the ground and water. People constrained by money and habit to live near airports are stressed by noise. Airports are now the prototypes for the tightly-controlled "papers, please" society; they normalize fascism. They are tentacled monsters.

Railroad right-of-ways also provided wildlife habitats and linear greenbelts for mobile species. Some of my fav frog, lizard, and turtle catching grounds were in track ditches and surrounding grounds in my childhood.

Some high-speed rail should be built to accommodate the jet-set (remember that 60s moniker?), but I would be delighted to see the human-centric, human-scaled comfortable trains of my youth return.

...or animals such as elephants, dolphins, whales, etc. -- any non-predatory species. I know there would have to be exceptions but we have to put a stop to killing some of the most beautiful and peaceful creatures with which we share this planet.

More trees, more green… clean water for all

Government of, for and by the people, people who feel the responsibility and take it seriously

Less oil and more sun and wind

Homes, health care and healthy food for all people

No billionaires (very progressive tax)

….just for starters 🙏

for some years. Is it a scam?

Meanwhile, I've seen ads for folding solar panels that will fit on a car's roof carrier, deployable in minutes. Usable on existing cars and replaceable if damaged or for upgrades. Wish there were a tax credit for that.

Over them on poles like car ports. The Milwaukee Market did that and I've seen it in some business parking lots.
