Without my Star membership, pages load to about ten times the memory as with the membership active. On my old phone, it's so bad I can barely get to the sign in page when I open DU and I'm signed out. I'd go with the membership, just for the ease of navigation.

The owners of the site put a lot of hard work into making it work so well.

I have never had to read a single ad on DU with my contribution. Not one.

I think it is worth much more than that, but my budget is very tight. I think I renewed for this year for a one-time contribution of $10 (I'm ashamed to say and am heading to the Star Membership page to add on.)

If DU isn't even worth a few bucks a year to you, I can't help but wonder why you bother coming here frequently enough to be annoyed by the ads?

I've always had a Star.. I wanted to help. I wouldn't be able to stand the ads, either.

Instead of complaining, try buying a Star. See how you like that.
