Vice President JD Vance says in his new book that his meeting last year with Vatican diplomats in Rome was “unsettling” as they uttered what he describes as “trite platitudes” and “clichés,” adding that he preferred the direct rebukes offered by Pope Francis, the Washington Post reports.

Christian Nationalist mostly speak of God. Christ is just used as part of their title. Catholics are all about Jesus so Vance is not a good Catholic. IMO.

Dominicans, Opus Dei, Rad Trad types are Catholic in as they follow the Rituals and use the Vulgate Bible, but they don't see eye to eye on the authority of the Pope.
Not quite a Rome and Avignon situation, because they do like to partake of the wealth of the Roman Catholic Organization, but they have no problems saying the Pope "ain't the Boss of them "- the God between their ears apparently is.

My SIL would fall under the Rad Trad label. We avoid deep discussions.
