My mom was also very liberal, very creative, loved art, nature, and science. It was a big loss.
She passed before drumphf ever announced the first time. Probably the only silver lining; her missing his horribleness. She would have been furious!

My mom passed away in 2022. She voted absentee against Trump in the middle of the pandemic. I was glad that she got to see Biden elected and in some ways I'm grateful she was spared Trump's second election. She was distressed enough by the first one.

My Mom was 82 when she passed too and also a West Virginia coal miners daughter. We played that song for her at her funeral since she loved it so much.

Mom's passing isn't easily accepted. She died 10 years ago and there are days, still, when I think I have to call her to ask a question about something or other.

I'm 83 and intend to see trump either dead or in jail before I go. I'll raise one for your mother when it happens.

I'm so sorry for what you are yours are going through. We're here with you should you need us.

If it snowed overnight, mine would make breakfast, then go outside, get a handful of snow and squeeze it and squeeze it until her little hands were ice cold. Then she'd sneak in my room and put them on my back.

Then she'd smile ever so sweetly and say, "Breakfast is ready."

A few months later, in the spring, she would walk around the back of the house to find a small green hose coiled up like a snake. My mom had nerves of steel (Navy Airman) and laughed at things that would terrify mortal humans (bungie jumping off a Chinese bridge at ate 75), but she was scared ti death of snakes. Or hoses that looked like snakes.

I was evily cackling in the kitchen, listening to her scream, when the door flew open and she caught me and knew I did it on purpose.

You are going to miss your mom, friend. My only suggestion is when you start to feel blue, think of a time that can only bring a smile to your face. You don't have to wallow in the end, you can relive all the good parts with some effort. Hugs to you.
