Last edited Thu Jun 11, 2026, 01:59 PM - Edit history (1)

The Opening Ceremony will be 1.30pm ET at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City followed by Mexico v RSA.

The rest of the planet hopes that the US media will drop its usual arrogance and call the most popular sport on the planet by its correct name. - FOOTBALL. There is no effin S in football
Enjoy.

which will be in Spanish. Fox picks up coverage at 2pm central though, when the opening game starts. I might watch the game on Telemundo, since I understand about as little in Spanish as having the game explained in English.

I love football but am very unenthusiastic about this World Cup.
Trickle down sports have destroyed community sport.
The working class of the planet now entertain the billionaires, politicians, corporate sponsors, their employees and friends No one else can afford tickets

on Stub Hub. Still $250, but that's way better than where they were.

Kudos to FIFA for scheduling them at noon on weekdays!

We have 2 great minor league teams here in Pittsburgh, a men’s team and a women’s team, and they play in an awesome stadium. Much more fun than the bloated snore fest of the World Cup.

The only international football I ever watched in the US was at the Olympics - the game was in Miami.
