I woke up thinking about this today. I think that interview really got under my skin and upset me.
There was a portion of that interview where Ms. Welker tried to steer him in a different direction while he was off on an angry rant. I just woke up and don't have it in me to look for the video, but you probably know what I mean. She tried to distract him like you would distract a child who is having a temper tantrum in a grocery store.
She tried to appease him. Look over there, Mr. president...squirrel!
Again, like you would with a toddler.
It really hit home for me when I noticed this brief moment in the interview.
He's the president, and he's on TV, and he had absolutely no self-control in spite of this.
He tries to instill fear into people, particularly women.
He presents as a person who would easily murder someone if he could get away with it. In fact, he has had people killed, only he's had them killed via the hands of others and via policy. If there were no restraints at all on him, he would kill with his own hands.
All of this got me thinking...
If he could act like this, as the president of the United States, exposed and on TV, how do you think he treated the women and girls he abused, under the cover of a safe environment where he was not exposed?
How bad did he treat these women? These girls?
I can't imagine, and it makes me shiver to think of it.
"He's a monster" is no exaggeration.

(26,749 posts)Are also how everyone around him handles him off screen too. Trump is a giant man baby. If you're not eating his shit 24/7 he goes off on you. Then he leaves to escape back to his world where everyone pretends to love him.
Trump has to be so out of touch, between his bullshit, his cabinets bullshit, and the social media bullshit he bathes his brain in, the guy has to be the least informed world leader since Hitler. Trump is a complete moron.

(14,691 posts)FFS he needs to be removed from the presidency.
He is a clear and present danger to the planet.
This is on every Republican that is okay with this.

(12,104 posts)will wake up from the cult and Republicans will melt down by the midterms. So, I take it as a positive. He is accelerating his own demise.

(4,015 posts)With him losing his mental capabilities (like he ever had any) and without a BS shield of sycophants surrounding him, the true fucking asshole he is was laid bare for all to see. I believe that interview was the beginning of the end for HIM. His cult followers are stuck in their MAGA world and we'll have to deal with them until they die off. That interview also showed how utterly feeble he is. He could barely get out of the chair, never stood up straight in that frame and almost fell over as he shuffled away. Not enough is being said about that. This fucker is that crazy old man sitting on the porch screaming at kids who get off his lawn. And he has the nuclear codes.

(351 posts)but Trump was showing his racism and misogyny in 2016 when he was running for president the first time. He didn't bother to hide these, he was openly speaking to a segment of the American public, and it worked for him. He played the 'we are the victim card' for those being called out for their racist and misogynistic views. Ultimately, it exposed the dark side of America.

(558 posts)Jeffery's business was blackmail, writ large.
His tool was hidden cameras everywhere then the blackmail tapes to the tune of millions, then the ability to edit to bring out the worst in them ,with no recourse from the blackmailed..
As someone said "it's all about the P***y compromising positions and POWER
Find one rape tape starring tump and he's done , over ..then outta here

(4,712 posts)Let's just look at his horrendous behavior on camera. He's a total pig. And I really do not want to insult real pigs by comparing them to this POS. But just imagine how much worse he is in person when he is not on camera. He has to be worse, and that is difficult to even fathom. If we. had been paid to find the worst candidate in the USA, I don't think we could have found anyone less qualified than P**$Y-Grabber himself.

(24,492 posts)This was pathetic, even for him. He couldn't take any question that was even the least bit challenging. He looked like a petulant child and also not all there.
I wonder if they're applauding it or ignoring it.

(69,806 posts)DUer Underpants posted the images. Trump tore off his lapel mic, dropped it on the ground, and stepped on it twice. The second time he deliberately crushed it underfoot.
To me, this is a marker of a violent person. It suggests to me that this person has rages and violently, physically attacks people. It lends credence to the many accusations of violent rape.

(378 posts)It's not too far fetched to imagine him raping one of Epstein's victims and choking her to death in a sick display of domination. But the murder was covered up by the Epstein crew. Trump may have been blackmailed for this by Epstein with a video tape of the murder. I wonder if such a tape exists? And maybe Putin has a copy. So it's not just a sex scandal that Trump tries to cover up. One day the full extent of Trump's depravity may be revealed.

(183,085 posts)Trump is sometimes confronted with a word that practically causes a presidential allergic reaction: evidence. Trouble soon follows.
Of course Triggered Trump abandoned his MTP interview: Kristen Welker used the one word that practically causes a presidential allergic reaction:

âEvidence.â

Nearly three months later, the president sat down with NBC News Kristen Welker for his latest Meet the Press interview, and when the host dared to use the e word, he couldnt simply shift his focus to a different reporter, so he instead abruptly ended the interview. MS NOW reported:
Youre either crooked or youre stupid, Trump told Welker, who kept a cool demeanor despite the presidents barrage of disparaging slurs.
Moments before he attacked her, Trump without providing any evidence said he believes elections in the U.S. are rigged. Then he lambasted television news networks, singling out NBC, CBS and ABC.
Theyre crooked just like youre crooked, your press is crooked. And Meet the Press is crooked, Trump said.
In context, there was no great mystery as to what triggered the president and generated his interview-ending meltdown: After Trump wrapped up a conspiratorial rant about Jan. 6 rioters, Welker emphasized for viewers, Just to be very clear, theres no evidence of what youre saying. He was clearly not pleased......
And so, he unraveled, ultimately walking away from questions he simply wasnt prepared to answer, raised by a journalist who dared to ask him to back up his baseless claims.
WOW - Trump crashes out & cuts his interview w/ Welker short as she presses him on his lack of evidence for claiming elections are rigged

"You're either crooked or you're stupid. I've had enough. Thank you darling," he tells her"
"I traveled all the way to Wisconsin for this interview," she pleads
It was a timely reminder of a few unavoidable observations. First, Trump tends not to do lengthy interviews with independent news organizations, which leaves him unprepared when they ask the kind of questions conservative outlets avoid.
Second, and relatedly, its no secret that the president has surrounded himself with sycophants and yes-men at the White House. He grew visibly enraged with Welker, not just because she professionally pushed back against obvious falsehoods, but also because she exposed Trump to reality in ways that obviously made him uncomfortable.
And third, amid public discussion about his mental fitness, the presidents furious reaction suggested hes also struggling to regulate his emotional outbursts.
As for the near future, the unpleasant exchange on NBC News should hopefully lead to additional questions in which Trump is again pressed for the 2020 evidence he claims exists, but which hes refused to show.
