Springsteen Center to launch with America 250 concerts Featuring: Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Stevie Van Zandt, Gar

Gary Clark Jr., Mavis Staples & more

The Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music at Monmouth University announced a major two-night concert event as part of the national celebration of America’s 250th birthday. Music America: The Songs that Shaped Us will also serve as a cornerstone of the center’s grand opening June 7.

The shows take place June 4 and 5 at the OceanFirst Bank Center on Monmouth’s campus in West Long Branch. Beyond providing a signature event of the semiquincentennial celebration, the concerts mark the official launch of festivities for the new facility.

The Bruce Springsteen Center is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Bruce Springsteen. The facility also serves to explore the broader story of American music through exhibitions, archives and educational programming. The genre-spanning event will feature a wide-ranging lineup led by Bruce Springsteen. Additional performers include: Stevie Van Zandt, Jon Bon Jovi, Jackson Browne, Rosanne Cash, Kenny Chesney, Gary Clark Jr., Public Enemy, Mavis Staples and Trombone Shorty, among many others.

Disciples of Soul will serve as the house band.

Each performer will deliver landmark songs spanning genres such as blues, bluegrass, rock, hip-hop, folk, jazz, country and gospel. Narration will precede each set to provide historical and cultural context.

This one-day event at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD is about the power everyday human beings have when they come together — through music, art, community and action — to shape our country and our planet on, and beyond, Election Day.

Performers:

DAVE MATTHEWS
TOM MORELLO
JOAN BAEZ
PUBLIC ENEMY
JACK BLACK FEAT. ROMAN MORELLO, REVEL IAN, YOYOKA SOMA & HUGO WEISS
DROPKICK MURPHYS

TAYLOR MOMSEN
THE LINDA LINDAS
DARRYL "DMC" MCDANIELS

And on basic cable instead of a streaming service I don't have.

Shepard Fairey is a DJ?

I hope it's network or basic cable because I don't have seven+ subscriptions for streaming.

either live or on tape.

I suppose that might change with the museum opening next month, but it isn't something they've done thus far.

Sometimes clips have shown up on YouTube or on the local news, but not a complete show.

... however one suspects that the vibe will be anti-Chump and anti-MAGA. Either way I'm sure it will be worth the price of the ticket. If we're lucky it will be filmed for television also.

to celebrate the semiquincentennial. They started in 2024. These two nights of performances are just days before the grand opening of the new Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music museum at Monmouth University.

Not everything is a direct reaction to what Trump does, and nor should it be.
