(8,455 posts)Paxton may be a corrupt scum bag, but don't forget Democrats are communists who want to force kids to have sex changes and are often found in the pediatric ward cutting the heads off babies. Oh yea, those evil Democrats also don't like pollution.
In short, there are some Republicans who WILL NEVER vote Democratic. They simply believe Democrats are evil incarnate because well that's just what they believe. The vile and corrupt disgust of the Republicans is just a case of "don't believe my lying eyes" for these people.

(570 posts)Talarico could win, but we need to get out there with him and talk directly with Texas voters.

I plan to place then in front of paxton signs i see along the road.
it shouldnt cost more than a couple hundred bucks for 50 or so signs.

super wealthy and big business and never for the poor or middle class.

I'm sure most of us remember the '22 senate election in Georgia between Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker. Warnock ran a good campaign, was terrific in his public appearances, while Walker was often saying stupid, damaging things to the point of being incoherent.
In a normal world, Warnock would have won that race by a huge margin. In fact, he won by less than 3 percentage points. No matter how many campaign blunders Paxton makes; no matter how many stupid things he says, if Talarico wins, it will be by a very small margin.

(3,873 posts)With 46.5% Democrats in the State there is no effing reason that TX is ruby red and Repubs hold all the power in the State. There must be a huge voter suppression effort making it really hard to vote. Talarico can pull this off if Dems get their a&&es to the polls.

(3,960 posts)Texas is a lot like Indiana. Its not as red as one may think BUT the citizens DO NOT like outsiders meddling in their business and/or telling them what to do. I saw Mark McKinnon on Ari and he made a statement that Beto's biggest mistake was his campaign took on a national tone. Keep it local. I think that's the proper strategy for all Democrats and/or Independents in this midterm. The repukes are forced to take it national because of FatAss. This is a great opportunity for Dems to get back into the local political game everywhere. No platforms based on the DNC platform. Base it on yourself and your local politics. Most of these races are small donors anyway so speak to your constituents and not what Democrats can do. We all know what the national party is for, no reason to pound it into people's ears, IMHO.

(18,116 posts)Talaricos messaging choices are brilliant right off the bat
-the People vs Paxton.
-Ive been eating Texas BBQ since before Paxtons first indictment.
Just keep ridiculing and still focus on his own messaging.
