Out of curiosity I wanted to see if he died yet and he is still alive in jail near San Diego. Newsom blocked his release for parole. Then I learned that Bobby Kennedy Jr visited him in prison 8 years ago and he believes Sirhan didn't kill his father.....
"In 1989, Sirhan told British journalist David Frost: 'My only connection with Robert Kennedy was his sole support of Israel and his deliberate attempt to send those 50 fighter jets to Israel to obviously do harm to the Palestinians.' Some scholars believe that the assassination was the first major incident of political violence in the United States stemming from the IsraeliPalestinian conflict."
"The assassination spawned many conspiracy theories, many of which claimed there was a "second gunman" or that Sirhan was not the true killer. In a 2018 interview with The Washington Post, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that he had traveled to California to meet with Sirhan in prison and, after a relatively long conversation (the details of which he would not disclose), had come to believe that Sirhan did not kill his father and that a second gunman was involved."
So RFK jr believes in conspiracy theories, my my, what a surprise.

(55,361 posts)as a matter of fact. Both CA Governors Brown and Newsom denied her parole...
"On November 9, 2021, Van Houten was again recommended for parole by a parole board. On March 29, 2022, Governor Newsom again overruled the parole board's recommendation."
"On May 30, 2023, a California Court of Appeal in Los Angeles set aside Governor Newsom's denial of Van Houten's parole, thus making her the first Manson family member to have a court rule in her favor for a parole recommendation. On July 7, 2023, Newsom announced that he would not file an appeal with the California Supreme Court to block her parole, paving the way for her release. Van Houten was released on parole on July 11, 2023, after serving over 52 years in prison."
I was pissed off about this at the time and I still am!
