I've tried ten time to make this post. Johnno is dying. He's a month older than I am. He was my sister's ex and father of her son.
I haven't seem him for forty years. I'm not prepared for this. Johnno was indominable. A smart arse who loved a beer. A bricklayer until he was 70,
The father of my nephew.
I'm a stoic. A pragmatist; we all die. The memories are to be stored and appreciated. I don't believe in worshipping bones or urns.
But JOHNNO? He's indestructible. Until he's not.

(20,854 posts)How we grovel and scrape online, because we've been misunderstood. Because fucking emojis cannot take the place of eye and body language.
This obsequient language seems to have made its way into politics and newsrooms.

Hugs to you!

(90,382 posts)Somehow, it just stuck itself into my mind and stayed there. Wish I could remember who came up with it first!
