https://finance.yahoo.com/sectors/healthcare/articles/just-dont-look-amazon-worker-170000180.html"A worker collapsed and died on the floor of an Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) warehouse in Troutdale, Oregon, on April 6 and for more than an hour, employees say they were told to keep loading trucks as the body lay nearby.
The incident at Amazon's PDX9 fulfillment center was first reported by The Western Edge (1), an independent investigative outlet covering the Pacific Northwest, and confirmed by Amazon to TechCrunch (2). The worker was 46 years old, according to public records. His name and cause of death have not been disclosed."

People die of other stuff besides heart attacks, though.

(12,327 posts)We just no longer needed the service. Then, all the political garbage came flowing. I watch YouTube, but not a fancy member. Took weeks for the idiotic Melania movie to stop being advertised. My main go to; We Rate Dogs, Kimmel, Colbert, SNL... None of those are in Melania wheelhouse, but Bezos paid a massive amount of money for a short time to flood YouTube.

Along with DU, Mother Jones is one of my favorite progressive sites.
I am glad the author got to go back to her regular job and life. But there are many others who are trapped in jobs like these with lousy pay, terrible working conditions and having to deal with a company policy and attitude that is downright dehumanizing.

(4,444 posts)... in an Amazon warehouse that was treated so callously. I'm betting there have been more that just weren't publicized.
I hope that Bozo Bezos' demise is treated at least as badly.

(24,688 posts)As they are not afraid of losing their jobs ("Pedophile Protector!" ), members of an organized workforce can stop in respect of a dead brother or sister. And unions do a generally good job of making sure their members are not worked to death or in dangerous conditions.
Geez, Bezos.
