Sen. Gallego: Rep. Eric Swalwell "lied to me"

Breaking on MSNOW. Swalwell was one of his closest friends. He just spoke to reporters for 40 minutes and took "every question" according to Ali Vitali. He said he knew nothing about the serious allegations, but there were rumors about him being "flirty".

This is a guy whose family vacationed with Swalwell's family and they watched each others' kids. He also said that Swalwell was leading a "double life".

4. It sounds like he was trying to get ahead of that

One reporter asked him (paraphrased) what that shows about his judgement that he was so close to the guy and didn't suspect anything. I have to admit that that doesn't really seem fair, but I guess it needed to be asked. Reporters do seem to find their courage when questioning Dems I've noticed.

8. Look for D candidates in the CA gov race to get ahead of that as well.

Any candidate who had more than a casual relationship with Swalwell risks being tainted by their relationship, especially as it is already coming out that Swalwell’s philandering was part of the DC whisper mill.

Possible that even his close friends had no clue.

It just doesn’t make sense that we can’t dump Trump who the nation knows is a whole lot worse. This fascist system is just a mess.

1 of 435 or even 1 of 100 is a lot easier to replace than the president.

You can't threaten a president to take away their committee assignments or move them to a broom closet.

And while it's hard to throw out a member of your party, it's harder to throw out the leader of the party.

14. We can't get rid of Trump because his party supports him. In Swalwell's case his party didn't suppport him

As he and Swalwell were very, very tight.

I just read the details of the divorce from his first wife and subsequent remarriage.

Fucking woof.

If he had any plans to enter the 2028 primary, I'd strongly encourage a rethink. Feels like another ticktock scenario just lurking.

7. Gallego? The guy who sent texts about how it sucks that Democratic women aren't hot?

He may not have known about specific allegations, but "rumors about him being flirty" is doing a lot of work here.

And as far as badly kept secrets go...Gallego's got his own floating around.

They asked us what we would change about our workplace if we could change anything. Three or four colleges spoke and said things like higher wages for everyone, structural improvements, more inclusive/inviting for families, etc.

First man they asked said all the nurses would “be like, pinup hot.” That’s what we were there for in his esteemed opinion. To look “hot” for his pleasure and entertainment.

I can see people telling others about consensual affairs but not something like this.
